About Me or “What the Hell is an Inadvertent Gypsy?”

If you’re looking for a really exciting bio you probably won’t find it here. You won’t read about a litany of awards bestowed upon me as my time as a UN Ambassador mostly because the UN is completely unaware of my obvious talents and therefore, they’ve never asked. I don’t have a high-powered job where I am a corporate bad-ass breaking the proverbial glass ceiling and I haven’t found a cure for cancer (nor will I because they’d never entrust me with that endeavor and I don’t have a penchant for science). I am an Army wife, a mom, a writer (I am writing this hence, I am a writer) a huge dreamer, and I am also a procrastinating hypochondriac but that is another story entirely. Oh, and I also have a weird obsession with hobos. There’s not a whole lot I can add to that last part. It’s just kind of my thing.

Most of who I am is because I was raised as an Army Brat and we moved A LOT. Like, A LOT, A LOT and then I married a soldier and we move, well…frequently (AKA: a lot). And there you have it, I became an inadvertent gypsy. Through all the moves, the temporary homes and the amazing experiences, big and small, afforded us through this glorious life, I developed a gypsy spirit, you know, kind of inadvertently. You might think I should have used “nomad” instead of “gypsy” but I googled this and it turns out a nomad is a type of free-spirited gypsy and so gypsy seems far more fitting. Anyway, I am addicted to moving and making the most of wherever you find yourself. Also, in case you’re wondering, I don’t live in a caravan and I am not a carny. My gypsy moniker is a metaphorical gig. This blog is about realizing life is an adventure, no matter where you are or where you live or where you travel. These stories are about appreciating all that is around you and making even the simplest of excursions a magnificent memory. -Gypsy Girl
